We’re doing our very best to stay up-to-date with all the latest news and information on the escalating COVID-19 situation. Whilst keeping all users of our club safe and healthy is a fundamental value, we also recognise the huge importance of giving people the chance to play tennis and get fresh air and exercise over what is likely to be an extremely challenging period for everyone.
We have contacted Tennis Scotland (the governing body of Tennis in Scotland, under direction of the Lawn Tennis Association) asking them to release guidance to all clubs on what we should and shouldn’t be doing around individual play, organised sessions, coaching, matches, competitions, events etc. to best strike this balance. As soon as we receive this we will assess what it means for us and issue further more detailed guidance.
In the meantime, considering all current advice and guidance, the club is very much open for play and our coaching classes will continue as normal. Clearly if you or your child is showing any symptoms, we ask that you stay away from the club and follow public health guidance. We also ask that everyone thoroughly washes their hands before and after play (tennis balls may provide a transmission route) and refrain from skin contact (hand shaking, hi-fives, fist pumps etc.). Beyond this, we will not be organising any further club events or activities until we have taken appropriate advice and fully considered all the associated risks, implications and practicalities.
As you are all aware, this is a fast moving situation. Please be reassured that we are following all relevant guidance and have your health and well-being at the forefront of our minds at this challenging time. We will keep you up-to-date with our response to this escalating situation through further updates as and when appropriate.
Keep well everyone and please don’t hesitate to contact me should you have any questions or wish any further clarification.
